More About BORTAC

BORTAC is the premier tactical division within the Border Patrol—an elite unit designed to handle the most dangerous and high-risk operations. As a BORTAC agent, you will face intense and unpredictable situations that will challenge your skill, composure, and leadership under pressure.

BORTAC members have full access to the Border Patrol fleet and tactical equipment, allowing them to respond swiftly and effectively to any critical incident. The BORTAC mission focuses on high-risk operations related to drug enforcement, including breaching fortified structures, executing arrests, seizing narcotics, and disrupting large-scale criminal organizations.

Beyond counter-narcotics missions, BORTAC agents are also deployed for hostage rescues, tactical raids, and high-threat border security operations. In addition to their core duties, BORTAC teams frequently support other CSCBP divisions as well as local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies when specialized expertise or tactical response is required.

Becoming part of BORTAC means joining an elite brotherhood and sisterhood of agents who operate with precision, discipline, and courage—protecting our nation’s borders through skill, strategy, and strength.
